Help & FAQ

Quick answers about temporary inboxes, Plus, Developer access and Domain Network. For an account, payment or delivery issue, contact support after checking the relevant section below.

How long does an inbox live?

Free inboxes and each newly created Plus inbox normally live for 24 hours. A Plus reclaim creates another 24-hour session for the same address, but old messages, old sessions and previous access secrets are not restored. Temporary inboxes are not permanent storage.

What happens if a domain disappears?

Inboxes.Run uses managed rotating receive domains. A specific supplier root can become unhealthy or disappear. Domain Network sells active receive capacity and managed replacement, not ownership of a particular root. Where replacement is included, unhealthy roots are removed and capacity is replaced as qualified supply allows. Dedicated Active Capacity means exclusive active capacity for your account, not registrar ownership of the roots.

How do REST API and IMAP work?

Sign in and open Developer to generate or manage your API key and see your current limits. The REST base URL is https://inboxes.run/api/v1. Receive-only IMAP is available at imap.inboxes.run:993 with TLS. IMAP is read-only. Keep API keys and mailbox passwords private.

How does Plus billing work?

Plus is a one-time pass, not a subscription: 3 days for $1.99 or 30 days for $4.99. Checkout is enabled only when the qualified premium-domain pool is ready. If payment is confirmed but Plus cannot be activated because of an Inboxes.Run technical issue, contact support with the payment or order reference.

When can I buy Domain Network capacity?

Domain Network checkout stays closed until qualified supplier capacity is available and live pricing is configured from real supply economics. The Domains screen may let you choose a mode and target capacity before sales open, but it will not invent inventory or a price. Custom setup is only for larger or unusual B2B requirements.

An expected message did not arrive. What should I check?

  • Confirm the exact inbox address is still active and has not passed its 24-hour lifetime.
  • Refresh the inbox and allow for sender-side delivery delay.
  • Remember that unknown, expired and historical recipients are rejected rather than collected by catch-all.
  • If the active inbox still does not receive an expected message, send support the inbox address, approximate time and sender domain. Do not send passwords, API keys, one-time codes or other secrets.

What use is prohibited?

Phishing, credential harvesting, account takeover, use of former-user or misdirected recovery mail, residual-mail harvesting, unlawful surveillance and attempts to bypass access or rate-limit controls are prohibited. See the Acceptable Use Policy for the full launch rules.
